Yes indeed. I went a little crazy (ok, a lot crazy) and got an Alexander Wang bag.
But in my defense,
a.) I neeeeeeeded a grey bag because grey is my comfort color of choice. While many say, "Hmmm... I wonder if they have this in black?" when they pick up a tee or skirt or whathaveyou, I ask if they have it in GREY.
b.) I had to have silver hardware. (I am super matchy matchy with jewelry metals/purse hardware). I dunno why Marc Jacobs insisted upon using gold hardware on 85% of his bags, and thus, I was led astray... and into Mr. Wang's arms.
c.) I have been in love with this bag for MONTHSSSSSS.
d.) I didn't pay full retail. And yes, it was brand new, tags attached, dustbag ncluded. Thank you, eBay :)
e.) You only live once. And I want to live with this bag in my got-dayum hand... kthanksbye! (Let's just call it an early birthday present, shall we?)
I'm already planning fall outfits with it; I feel at peace knowing I can wear this bag with every frikkin thing; it can be dressed up or down.
Welp. I've gone and done it. I got THE BAG. I've been coveting this purse for months, I put it on hold last week, and finally it is in my possession. Last Friday I trekked across town (via Metro and bus) after work to pick up my bag... arrived at the mall 10 minutes before it closed... sprinted into Nordstrom's, and snagged my second M by MJ bag, the aforementioned Classic Q Baby Groovee Satchel. I loves it... It is my heart. Alas, I wasn't able to buy it in black with SILVER hardware, (those are not even online anymore) so I had to get it with gold hardware. Sooooooo I guess I'll have to buy more gold jewelry ;)We will be handle in hand for the remainder of the summer, then the fall and winter... until at last another darling purse catches my eye. Not to say that I will ignore my other loves... never that! But they will be placed on rotation with whatever other bag finds its way to me.
Am I the only one who drools over the handbag department at Nordstrom's? Am I the first to shed a tear when I spy a beautiful bag at Bloomy's? Ok, maybe I didn't drool or cry, but I do have a purse fetish. And Marc Jacobs doesn't help! Ever since I got his "Softy Jorie" bag last Christmas, I haven't been able to keep away from the man. (Mine is of the "Cranberry Fields" hue, and I haven't seen it on anyone else's arm since, thank heavens :) Anyway, the bag I have my eye on right now is the Marc by Marc Jacobs "Classic Q Baby Groovee Satchel." (I know; that's a mouthful.) It's the perfect size and the leather is so smooth and delectable... *sigh* It has a detachable shoulder strap, and it's just the right size to hold my favorite wallet, sunglasses, and a water bottle or small cover-up. And at $348, it's definitely a little investment for a college graduate like myself, yet not a bank-breaker. Maybe i'll wait til it goes on sale. Maybe I won't. All I know is, I've gotta have it!
